Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Nhân Gian Phật Giáo (Google Play package name com.bhudabooks, Apple App Store bundle ID com.caolinh.app.book) handles information. The application is published and operated by Tran Hong Nhi ("we", "us", "the developer"), who is the developer of record on the Google Play store listing for this application and is responsible for this policy. Nhân Gian Phật Giáo is a free reading application that provides Buddhist scriptures, texts and ceremonial books collected and compiled by Tổ in kinh Vĩnh Hoằng, Chùa Cao Linh (Bắc Sơn, An Dương, Hải Phòng, Việt Nam). By using the application you agree to this policy.

Summary

• The application has no user accounts. There is no registration, sign-in or user profile.
• We do not ask you for, collect or store any personal information on our own servers.
• The application displays advertisements through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier and technical device data in order to serve and measure advertising.
• Your reading position and downloaded books are stored only on your own device.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone other than the service provider listed below.

Information we collect

Information you give us

None. The application contains no registration, no login, no contact form and no free-text fields that are transmitted to us. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar or precise location, and it does not send push notifications.

Information stored on your device only

To make the application usable, the following is stored in the application's own private storage area on your device:

• the page number you last read in each book, so that the book reopens where you left off;
• a local cache of book cover images and downloaded PDF files, so that content you have already opened loads faster and can be reopened.

This information never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and cannot be read by us. It is removed when you clear the application's storage or uninstall the application.

Information collected automatically by Google AdMob

The application shows banner and interstitial advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. When an advertisement is requested, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and processes data on Google's behalf, including:

• the advertising identifier of your device — the Android Advertising ID (AAID) on Android, or the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS where you have permitted it;
• your IP address, and an approximate (city or region level) location derived from it;
• device and software information such as device model, operating system version, language and screen characteristics;
• information about the advertisements shown to you, such as impressions, clicks and the time of these events.

This data is collected by Google, not by us. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying performance reports (for example the total number of impressions), and we cannot identify any individual user from them. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Consent for advertising

Where required by law, the application shows Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form when it is first opened, and requests advertising consent before any advertisement is loaded. On iOS, the application also shows the Apple App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, the IDFA is not used. You can change your advertising consent at any time in your device settings.

Content requests

The application downloads its book catalogue and PDF files from our content service at https://book-api-cf.appify.workers.dev. These requests contain no account, name, email address or advertising identifier. As with any internet request, the hosting provider records standard technical server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent), which are used only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, and are not used to build a profile of you or combined with advertising data.

How the information is used

• To deliver the books and images you choose to open.
• To restore your last reading position within a book on your own device.
• To display advertising, which funds the free distribution of the application, and to measure whether advertisements were shown correctly.
• To diagnose technical errors and protect the service against abuse.

We do not use this information for any other purpose, and we do not create user profiles.

Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The only third party that receives data through the application is Google, in its role as our advertising service provider, as described above. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so by a valid request from a competent authority.

Third-party services

The application integrates the following third-party services. Their own privacy policies apply to the data they collect:

• Google AdMob — advertising (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google User Messaging Platform — advertising consent management

The application contains no other advertising network, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no social network SDK and no payment processor.

Your choices and rights

• Advertising identifier. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and turn off ad personalisation, in Settings → Privacy → Ads. On iOS you can withdraw tracking permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Advertising consent. You can change or withdraw the consent given in the Google consent form at any time; the form will be shown again when your consent status requires it.
• Local data. You can delete everything the application has stored by clearing the application's storage or uninstalling it. Because we hold no personal data about you on our servers, there is nothing further for us to delete.
• Requests. If you have a question or a request concerning your data, write to nhith.work@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Data retention

We do not retain personal data, because we do not collect any. Data stored on your device remains there until you clear the application's storage or uninstall it. Data collected by Google through the advertising SDK is retained according to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's own retention schedules. Technical server logs for the content service are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting purposes and are then discarded.

Security

All communication between the application and our content service uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Data stored by the application is kept in the application's private storage area, which other applications on the device cannot read. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The application is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the application, please contact nhith.work@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

Links to other sites

Advertisements and some sections of the application may lead to websites that we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the application's store listing. Please review this page periodically.
